BRITISH WORKING CLASS IS FACING NEW HIT

In the city of Swindon, a southwestern English city about the size of Odense, people are in the streets marching. Marching for the 3500 laborers, who are set to be fired from the closing Honda car manufacturing plant.

A conservative estimate by the workers union, Unite the Union, say that a further 10.000 jobs in the supply chain will also vanish with the closure. Unite the Union are calling it a devistating body blow to the city. The workers are mostly unskilled. Furthermore, Honda said just eight months ago, that the plant would be thriving in Europe.

While Honda denies that the decision is at all influenced by Brexit, this has been disputed by multiple experts. Even Honda themselves have previously expressed serious doubts about their ability to be comptetitive in Europe if Great Britain leaves the EU.

The British automotive industry employs nearly a million people and relies heavily on import from and export to EU countries. With that export and import potentially hindered by a no-deal Brexit, the industry looks in serious trouble.
